Audible is an Amazon audio book app on my iPhone that comes with some free books.  There is a chapter of “Earth” http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Earth_(The_Book) which is pretty funny.

Yes. Apple blew it. I just had to close 41 apps, none of which are
really running in the background anyway. Losing the double click to
get to my phone speed dial really bothers me. Now getting to speed
dial takes way too many steps. I already had a great way of selecting
apps; it is called the menu system, and I make good use of folders so
that I can find things quickly.

iPod/iPhone chess tactics problems

I saw an app for $2.99 that had 1200 tactics problems.   I can no longer find this app.  I am thinking that it was removed from the app store.  I also read online about an app with the same description, but I could not find the app name in the app store.

 

I am thinking of paying $7.99 for the full shredder to get the extra 1100 tactics problems, so that I can have them on my trip.

Take a tour of Translate for Animals!

• Step 1: How to begin

On your Android phone, go to Android Market and search for "Translate for Animals" to download the app.

• Step 2. Opening the app

Once the app is installed, touch the "Translate for Animals" app icon from the handset's main menu to open it.

• Step 3: Selecting your animal to translate

Once the app has opened touch the ‘translate from’ box. You will see a drop down menu open up. Choose from cat, dog, bird, rabbit, guinea pig, hamster, tortoise, horse, chicken, sheep, donkey, and pig.

• Step 4: Selecting your language

Touch the ‘translate to’ box to open English as the choice of language.

Only English is available currently.
